AWS DevOps · Hull
AWS DevOps in Hull
AWS DevOps for Hull organisations, where the console is what quietly breaks reproducibility. Every change made by clicking is a difference between what the code says and what exists, and once that drift accumulates the environment can no longer be rebuilt — which is discovered at exactly the wrong moment.
Why this comes up
The problem
Production has been adjusted through the console for months and no longer matches the infrastructure code.
What you get
What we deliver
- Existing infrastructure brought under code, including what was created by hand
- Console access restricted so changes go through the pipeline by default
- Drift detection enabled, since manual changes will still happen occasionally
- Deployment pipeline built with the tests that make releases safe to repeat
- Environments defined from the same code with differences held as parameters
- Rebuild rehearsed, because an environment nobody has recreated is a hypothesis

Working in Hull
Yorkshire & the Humber
Hull has rebuilt around offshore wind and port logistics, and it is one of the few UK cities with its own independent telecoms network rather than the national infrastructure everywhere else uses.
Port, freight and renewables supply chain systems, plus connectivity work that has to account for the local network.

AWS DevOps in Hull — common questions
- Why does console drift matter so much?
- Because it removes your ability to rebuild. Infrastructure code is only useful if it describes reality, and once a dozen undocumented adjustments exist, applying that code either fails or reverts something important — so the code stops being run at all.
- Should console access be removed entirely?
- Read access is valuable and write access should be exceptional. People need to inspect and diagnose, but routine changes belong in code — and where an emergency change is made directly, bringing it back into code afterwards has to be part of the process.
- How are environments kept comparable?
- By generating them from the same definitions with parameters for what genuinely differs. Environments built separately diverge, and a staging environment that does not resemble production tests something other than what you are about to release.
- Why rehearse a rebuild?
- Because that is the only proof the code is complete. An estate that has never been recreated from its definitions almost certainly depends on something nobody wrote down, and finding out during a genuine recovery is considerably worse than finding out deliberately.
- Do you work with businesses across East Yorkshire?
- Yes. We are based in Leicester, United Kingdom and work with clients throughout Yorkshire & the Humber, including Hull and the surrounding East Yorkshire area. Most collaboration happens remotely, and we travel for kick-offs and key milestones.
- What kind of Hull businesses do you usually work with?
- Port, freight and renewables supply chain systems, plus connectivity work that has to account for the local network. Beyond that we work across Ports & Maritime, Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Logistics.
- Do you cover the areas around Hull?
- Yes — we work throughout Yorkshire & the Humber, including York, Leeds, Doncaster. Hull is an urban area of roughly 290,000+, and we take on work across the wider East Yorkshire region rather than the city boundary alone.
